Welcome to my blog from Dr Fredrick Frye
Welcome to my blog! I am finally getting this up, along with my site, so that you have something more to do here then just look at the pretty pictures. I am sorry it has taken so long to do, but I have determined that I am the master at procrastination, but mostly for a couple of reasons:
1) I want to get it right and
2) There are so many interesting topics out there and I read them all. Well, not all of them because there are many I miss until recently and then you find out it is, like 5 years old. Where have I been?
I am going to be doing a weekly blog on this site, so make sure you subscribe, or come back often to read what is new, fascinating and funny (maybe not in that order) but at least different. I am striving for giving information regarding veterinary medicine, the latest fads, dispel rumors and innuendo, and possibly bring frank discussion regarding what many people think they know, know they know, or thought they knew. I think. I hope I will have areas that you can field questions and that I can answer, to the best of my knowledge. But above all, I want you to understand what leaps we’ve made in the field of animal medicine and what is truly available for you and your pet.
My opinions are mostly my own. I may bring in opinions of others, i.e., authors of scientific papers, and current thinking. Some I will disagree with, and some I will agree and support. I may even show my frustration, but I will work hard in not doing that very much or even at all. We shall see.
First off, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Frederick Frye Jr. I have an “alphabet soup” after my name, so it makes for a long business card. But the short version is that I have my B.S., from Lewis & Clark College, my M.S. from San Diego State University, my DVM from Oklahoma State University, and my M.B.A. from Dominican University of California. I am originally from San Diego, and my family has been part of the state of California for over 150 years (I am a 6th generation Californian). I moved to the Bay Area after graduating from veterinary school in 1989, and started working in Berkeley, California. I then opened my own practice in San Rafael in 1994 and have been growing ever since. I have had my share of ups and downs, but it is good to be back in the saddle again and running my own practice.
For those of you that have been bringing your beloved family members [your pets] to me, you don’t know how thankful I really am. We, as veterinarians, get many letters, gifts, accolades etc., for our trials and triumphs for the health and well -being of your pet, but it is I who needs to be thankful. For without you, my loyal clientele, I would not have a wonderful practice, a home, and a great life. So from me to you: THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Now, I will be working to get some writing to you. Most of the entries will be not be too long, although I can blather for quite a while if you wish. So until next week, be well and keep your pets happy.
